CPDT was founded by a group of innovative practitioners who had a bold vision for a new kind of teacher preparation, grounded in their classroom experiences. This workshop series helps teachers create inclusive classrooms by welcoming different identities, building authentic relationships, and establishing strong routines. Participants will explore how personal identities shape interactions with students and families, develop strategies to counter bias, and practice active listening to strengthen connections. Teachers will also learn to implement intentional routines that promote a safe, predictable, and independent learning culture.
This workshop series equips teachers with strategies to set and reinforce classroom expectations in a clear, proactive manner. Participants will learn to effectively communicate instructions to students, use positive behavior strategies to help students meet expectations, and practice empathy and redirection when students need extra guidance. Through hands-on practice, educators will develop skills to foster a positive environment that promotes student success, accountability, trust, and mutual respect.
